Bench press

Okay kiddo, so the bench press is a type of exercise you can do at the gym to make your chest and arms muscles stronger.

Imagine you're lying down on a long bench, like a really big table. You hold onto a metal bar that's connected to some weights. The weights are really heavy and they make it harder for you to lift the bar up and down.

When you lift the bar up, you push it away from your chest and straighten your arms. When you lower the bar down, you bring it back to your chest.

You might feel your chest muscles getting bigger and stronger as you do this exercise over time. And if you use heavier weights, you'll get even stronger!

It's important to have a grown-up or a coach with you while you do the bench press so that you stay safe and don't hurt yourself.
