Buddhānussati is the Buddhist practice of remembering the qualities of the Buddha. To do this, Buddhists repeat words or phrases that remind them of the wonderful qualities of the Buddha, such as understanding, kindness, truth, patience, and compassion. Buddhists focus on these qualities and meditate on them in order to become more like the Buddha. Doing buddhānussati helps Buddhists to stay positive and remind them to act with kindness and understanding.
