Calisthenics

Okay kiddo, have you ever done any exercises like jumping jacks or stretching? That's a part of calisthenics!

Calisthenics is a type of exercise that uses your own body weight to make your muscles stronger and healthier. It’s like doing gymnastics moves and bodyweight workouts at the same time. It can help you build strong muscles, improve your balance, and make you more flexible too!

So, instead of lifting heavy weights or using machines at a gym, you’ll use your own weight to create resistance in your body.

For example, if you want to make your arms stronger, you can do push-ups. By getting on the ground and pushing yourself up, you use your arms and chest to lift your body weight. This type of exercise is called a bodyweight exercise.

You can also use calisthenics to increase your flexibility. For example, you can do a split stretch, which involves stretching your legs out as wide as you can while sitting on the ground, and then leaning forward to reach your toes. This can help you become more flexible.

Another great thing about calisthenics is that you can do them anywhere! You don’t need any fancy equipment or special places to work out. You can do them at home, in a park, or even on a beach!

Of course, like with any other form of exercise, it's important to first start with warm-up exercises to avoid injuries, and also to have a proper technique to get the most out of it.

So, there you go! Calisthenics is all about using your own body weight to get in better shape and improve your overall health, and it's fun and easy to do too!
