Christianity in the 2nd century

Christianity in the 2nd century was a very early time for the religion. At this time, most Christians lived in the Roman Empire, the superpower at the time. Christianity was a very different religion from the Roman gods and it was not accepted by many people. People who became Christians were often persecuted and could even be killed, just for believing in and following Jesus. However, even though it was hard to be a Christian, some people chose to follow Jesus and shared their beliefs with others. As more and more people heard about Jesus, more people became Christians and the religion began to grow. By the end of the 2nd century, there were lots of Christians in the Roman Empire and even beyond.
