ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Clock

A clock is a device that tells us what time it is. It usually has two hands, called the hour hand and the minute hand, that move around a circle. The circle is divided into 12 sections, called hours, and each hour is divided into 60 sections, called minutes. When the hour hand points to a number, it tells us what hour of the day it is - if it's pointing to the number 3, that means it's 3 o'clock. The minute hand points to the minutes, and if it's pointing at the number 12, that means it's on the hour, but if it's pointing at the number 6, that means it's been 30 minutes since the hour before. Clocks can be found in many different forms, including wall clocks, watch faces, and digital displays. Some clocks have numbers on them to make it easier to tell the time, while others only have symbols for the hours and minutes. Clocks are very important for helping us stay on time for appointments and other events throughout the day.
