Consensus Government is when a group of people who are making decisions try to agree on what to do. Imagine you and your friends want to play a game but you can't decide which game to play. In a consensus government, you would talk to your friends until you all agreed on a game that everyone wants to play.
Consensus government is when a group of grown-ups do the same thing but for really important decisions that affect a lot of people, like making rules for a whole city or country. Instead of one person or group making all the decisions, everyone gets to share their ideas and opinions.
When everybody talks about what they think is best, they can listen to each other and work together to make the best decision for everybody. Just like when you and your friends want to play a game, everyone has to agree on what to do in consensus government.
This way, everyone feels like they had a say in what happens, no matter how many people are in the group or how different their opinions might be. It's like teamwork, but on a really big scale!
