ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cryopreservation

Cryopreservation is a process of freezing something (like an animal or plant) at very, very cold temperatures to keep it from spoiling or dying. This is like putting something in the freezer, except much, much colder. It's a way to preserve something for a very, very long time. For example, scientists have used cryopreservation to keep cells and tissues alive for years, even decades!
