Democracy (varieties)

Democracy is a type of government where everyone has a say in how the government runs. In democracy, people get to vote for who their leaders and representatives are. Different countries have different types of democracy. Some democracies let people directly vote on laws and policies, while others have representatives who act on behalf of the people and make decisions for them. All democracies, though, are based on the idea of people having the power to run their country.
