ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Electromotive force

Okay kiddo, so electromotive force is like the energy that makes electricity flow in a circuit. Imagine you have a toy car that needs batteries to work. The batteries give the toy car energy to move around.

So in a circuit (which is like a path for electricity to flow through), the source of energy is called the electromotive force. It's kind of like the batteries for the toy car.

The electromotive force can come from different things like a battery, a generator, or even the earth's magnetic field (which is how some animals like birds know how to navigate).

And just like how the toy car will stop moving if the batteries run out of energy, a circuit won't work if there's no electromotive force to push the electricity through it.

Hope that makes sense, kiddo!
