First Amendment to the United States Constitution

The first amendment to the United States Constitution is kind of like a special rule. It says that the government (like the President or Congress) can't stop people from saying whatever they want. It also protects the right of people to practice any religion they want and to protest peacefully. In other words, the first amendment makes sure that everyone can express themselves without getting in trouble.
