The French Revolution was a time when the people of France changed their government. People were unhappy with their King, Louis XVI, and wanted a better life. They wanted liberty (freedom), equality (everyone treated the same) and fraternity (brotherhood). So, on July 14, 1789, the people of France stormed a prison called the Bastille, which held political prisoners. This started the revolution!
The French Revolution caused a change of government in France and many other countries. It helped give people more rights, like the right to vote, the right to own land, and the right to a fair trial. It also influenced people all around the world to fight for their rights too.
