ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Interconnect bottleneck

Sometimes computers and networks have a lot of things happening at once. Imagine if you have a lot of friends who all want to come visit your house at the same time. You can only fit a few people at a time in your house, so you have to make sure that the friends don’t all try to come visit at the same time. In a computer, the interconnect bottleneck is like your house. It’s the part of the computer where the data travels from place to place. If too much data is coming in at the same time, it can get “bottlenecked” and will take a long time to get where it needs to go. That can slow the computer down and make it run slower.
