ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Intraspecific competition

Intraspecific competition is when different individuals of the same species compete against each other for things like food, shelter, and water. Sometimes, animals have to fight each other to get what they need. When two animals that are the same kind try to get the same thing, they are competing intraspecifically. For example: two different deer in the same forest might be competing to get the same food, so they'll both run after it and try to get it away from each other.
