Law reform means changing the rules and laws we follow. It is kind of like when you learn a new game and realize you need to change some of the rules because they don't work well or are not fair.
In the same way, grown-ups also want to change some of the laws that don't work well or aren't fair. This can happen because society changes, new problems arise, or people realize that some laws are not helping everyone equally.
For example, let us say that there is a law that says people cannot wear hats in school. This law might have made sense a long time ago, but now it doesn't make as much sense. The law reformers may get together and try to convince lawmakers to change that law, so people can wear hats if they want to.
The people who work on law reform are called reformers, and they work hard to make sure that everyone is treated fairly and equally under the law. It sometimes takes a long time to change a law, and lots of people have to agree that it is necessary. But when the law is finally changed, it can make a big difference in people's lives!
