ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Offshore construction

Offshore construction is building something on the ocean or in a body of water. It usually means building something like an oil and gas platform, but it could also be used to talk about building something like a bridge or a dock. With offshore construction, you have to make sure you use materials that can stand up to the ocean or the weather since it will be exposed to the wind, waves, and sun a lot more than something that is built on land. Special boats are used to transport people, materials, and tools to the far away locations in the ocean. The people who do this work have to have lots of special safety training to make sure they know how to do their job and stay safe.
