Overshoot (ecology)

Overshoot is when animals or plants in an area use more of the resources than the environment can replace. This means that the animals and plants are using up all of the water, food, and other resources faster than nature can make them. Eventually, this leads to all of the resources running out and the animals and plants not having enough food, water, and other things they need to survive in that area.
