ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Religious discrimination

Religious discrimination is when people treat others differently or unfairly because of their religion. It's like when kids at school tease or bully someone because they have a different favorite color or toy. Except instead of toys, it's about what someone believes about God or how they worship.

Religious discrimination can happen in many different ways. Sometimes people don't let others do certain things, like pray or wear religious clothing. Other times, people may make fun of someone's beliefs or try to make them feel bad for being religious. It's not fair to treat someone badly because of their religion, just like it's not fair to be mean to someone because of their hair or skin color.

Luckily, it's against the law to discriminate against someone because of their religion in many places. That means if someone is being treated unfairly at school or work because of their religion, they can ask for help to make it stop. It's important to remember that everyone should be treated with kindness and respect, no matter what they believe.
