ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Salvage data

Salvage data is like going on a treasure hunt! Sometimes, when we use computers or other electronic devices, we accidentally delete important files or something goes wrong and the device stops working. Salvage data is the process of trying to recover these lost or damaged files so they can be used again. It's like trying to find the lost treasure and bring it back!

Just like how we use a treasure map to find where the treasure is hidden, there are special tools and software that experts use to find and recover lost or damaged files. They search through the device's memory and storage to try and locate the missing data.

Sometimes, the missing data is found easily and experts can just copy it over to a new device or fix the broken device. But other times, it can be very difficult and take a lot of time to find and recover the missing data.

In the end, salvaging data is like being a detective and trying to solve a mystery. By recovering the lost or damaged files, we can save important information and memories that we thought were gone forever!
