Speech error

Okay kiddo, have you ever tried to say something but it came out jumbled up or confusing? That's called a speech error! It happens when the words or sounds in our brain get mixed up or change as we try to say them out loud.

Sometimes we make mistakes like saying "butterfry" instead of "butterfly" or "pasketti" instead of "spaghetti." These mistakes are called "slips of the tongue" and they happen to everyone, even grown-ups!

But sometimes speech errors can be more serious and happen more often. This can be a sign of something called a speech or language disorder, which means our brain has trouble understanding or using words correctly. If you or someone you know has a speech or language disorder, it's important to get help from a doctor or speech therapist. They can help us learn how to use words and talk more clearly.
