Spoliation of evidence

Hey kiddo, do you know what evidence is? It's anything that can help solve a problem or prove something happened. But sometimes, people try to hide or get rid of evidence so that they won't get in trouble. That's called spoliation of evidence.

Let's say you accidentally break a vase in the living room. You don't want mom to get mad at you, so you throw the pieces in the trash before she can see them. That's spoliation of evidence because you got rid of something that could have helped mom figure out what happened to the vase.

In the bigger world, spoliation of evidence happens in court cases. If someone has evidence that could help prove their case, but they purposely destroy it or hide it, that's spoliation of evidence. It's not fair because it makes it harder to figure out the truth.

When people spoliate evidence, they can get in big trouble. It's like trying to cheat in a game – you're not playing fair and you're breaking the rules. So, always remember to tell the truth and keep any evidence that could be important for solving a problem or figuring out what happened!
