Spoofing attack

A spoofing attack is when someone pretends to be someone else to trick you. Imagine someone is pretending to be your friend on the internet. They might say things like, "Hi! I'm your friend and I have a secret to tell you". You might believe that person is actually your friend, but in reality they are not. The attacker is pretending to be someone they aren't in order to trick you. It can be used to steal your personal information or to take control of your computer. To protect yourself from a spoofing attack, always double check who you are talking to online and look out for suspicious messages.
