ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Stand-alone power system

A stand-alone power system is like an independent house that produces its own electricity; it doesn't rely on the power grid for energy. It can be powered with things like solar energy, wind energy, and even batteries. The electricity generated from these sources is stored in the batteries just like a normal house would use electricity from the power grid. The batteries are then used to power appliances like lights, stoves, televisions and other things that you might use in a home. Stand-alone power systems are great for areas that don't have access to a traditional power grid.
