ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Timber trackway

A timber trackway is like a pathway made out of pieces of wood. Imagine building a straight line of blocks on the floor. Now imagine replacing those blocks with pieces of wood instead. That's kind of what a timber trackway is like! It's just long strips of wood lined up in a row.

But why would you want a pathway made out of wood? Well, sometimes the ground is too wet or muddy to walk on easily. Using a timber trackway helps keep your feet dry and prevents you from slipping in the mud. It's like putting down boards so that you can walk on them instead of walking on the wet ground.

Timber trackways can be used for different reasons. Maybe people are trying to cross a swamp or marshy area. Or maybe they're trying to build a road to get to a certain place. Whatever the reason, having a timber trackway can be really helpful when the ground is too difficult to walk on.
