Absolute monarchy

Absolute monarchy is a type of government where one person, called a monarch, has all the power. The monarch often inherits their position when the previous monarch (like their mother or father) dies. The monarch is usually the only person who can make laws, decide taxes, start a war or keep peace with other countries. This means that even if people don't agree with what the monarch chooses, they have to do it because the monarch has all the power.
