Ampaw

Ampaw is a Filipino term that refers to a type of snack or dessert made from puffed rice. It is typically sweet and crunchy, and often enjoyed as a treat by people of all ages.

To make ampaw, people start by heating up a pot of oil until it reaches a very high temperature. Then, they add uncooked rice grains to the hot oil, which causes the rice to puff up and become airy and fluffy. Once the rice is fully puffed, it is removed from the pot and allowed to cool.

At this stage, some people choose to add sweet flavors to the ampaw by drizzling it with sugar syrup or coating it in melted sugar. This makes the snack even tastier and sweeter. The rice is then allowed to dry and harden before it is packaged and sold.

The resulting ampaw is a crispy and crunchy snack that can be eaten on its own or added to other foods such as ice cream or yogurt. It is a popular and affordable snack in the Philippines, and is enjoyed by people of all ages as a tasty treat.
