Cronyism

Cronyism is when someone in a position of power, like a politician or a business leader, gives favors to their friends or people they know. For example, let's say a business leader is hiring new people for his company. Instead of looking at all of the applications and choosing the most qualified person, they might choose a friend of theirs who isn't necessarily the most qualified. That's cronyism.
