ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Rotary switch

A rotary switch is a thing that lets you choose from a bunch of different options by turning it around in a circle. Like a big pizza with different toppings, but instead of pizza, it's a switch!

Imagine you have a bunch of toys that all make different noises when you press a button. The rotary switch lets you choose which toy's noise you want to hear by turning it to the right one. Sometimes, the switch clicks into place so you know which option you picked.

A lot of grown-up things use rotary switches too, like radios or lights that have different settings. Instead of pressing a button like with your toys, you turn the switch to pick the right setting.

In a nutshell, a rotary switch is just a fun way to choose between different things by turning in circles.
