ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Seawall

Okay kiddo, a seawall is like a really big fence that keeps the ocean from getting into places where people live and work. You know how your sandbox has a little wall around it? It's like that, but much much taller and made of much much stronger materials.

So, when big waves or storms come, the seawall stops the water from going too far and flooding the land. It's like a boundary between the land and the sea.

Now, it's important to know that seawalls can be made out of different things. Some are made out of concrete, while others are made out of big rocks piled up together. They have to be strong enough to keep the waves from breaking them down.

Seawalls can also be important for protecting things like roads and buildings. They may not look very pretty, but they're very useful!
