ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Selective breeding

Selective breeding is a way of creating animals or plants with the traits that people want. It is done by picking two animals or plants that already have the traits that you want, and then breeding them together. The offspring of the two will usually have the same or similar traits as their parents. People have used selective breeding for thousands of years, especially to make different kinds of dogs, horses, and crops, like corn or soybeans.
