ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sustainable fishery

Okay, imagine that there's a big ocean with lots and lots of fish swimming around in it. We humans really like to eat fish, so we catch them and eat them. But if we catch too many fish all at once, then there won't be enough left for the next time we want to catch fish. That's not good!

So, what we need to do is only catch some of the fish, and leave the rest of them to keep swimming around and make more baby fish. That way, there will always be plenty of fish in the ocean for us to catch and eat.

That's what sustainable fishery means - catching only as many fish as we need, and making sure there will be plenty of fish left for the future. We can do this by making rules about how many fish we can catch, and when we can catch them. We can also use special tools to catch the fish more carefully, so we don't hurt them or other animals in the ocean.

If we take care of the ocean and the fish that live in it, then we can have yummy fish to eat for a long, long time!
