ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Women’s studies

Women’s studies is a special kind of school subject where we learn all about girls and women. Just like how we learn math or science in school, we also learn about important things like how girls and women have been treated throughout history and how we can make sure everyone is treated fairly in the future. We talk about things like girl power, and how girls can do anything that boys can do. We also talk about important women in history who did amazing things, like Marie Curie who discovered radioactivity or Rosa Parks who fought for civil rights. Women’s studies helps us understand that everyone is equal and deserves to be treated with kindness and respect, no matter their gender.
