Epigraphy is the study of information that people wrote on surfaces thousands of years ago. We can learn a lot of things by studying these writings, such as what people thought and what they did. We can learn a lot about history and cultures by reading these writings. Just like studying letters or diaries people wrote in more recent times, we can learn a lot about people who lived hundreds or even thousands of years ago.
