Middle Passage

The Middle Passage was the name given to the journey made by ships carrying slaves from Africa to the Americas. During this journey, hundreds of people were packed together below deck on the ship. They had little food, water, air and space which often led to sickness and even death. Because of this, the journey was very hard for the enslaved people who had to endure it.
