Proteomics

Proteomics is the study of proteins. Proteins are molecules that are made up of amino acids. They are important for the body because they help it do things like move, grow and repair itself. Proteomics looks at all of the proteins in a cell and tries to understand how they work together to help the cell function. Scientists are using proteomics to try and find out more about how diseases develop, so that they can develop treatments for them.
