Schema (psychology) is a way that we organize information in our brains. For example, when you eat breakfast in the morning, you might think of getting your cereal from the cupboard, pouring the milk from the fridge, and eating it with a spoon. That sequence of steps is a schema - it's something you do over and over again, and you can remember the steps without having to think about them. Schema are very helpful because they help us remember what to do in certain situations.
