ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Voting

Voting is like a game where everyone gets to choose their favorite animal. Let's say there are three animals: dogs, cats, and hamsters. Each person gets to pick their favorite. If two people pick dogs, two people pick cats, and one person picks hamsters, then dogs and cats both got two votes and hamsters got one vote. The animal with the most votes wins!

In real life, voting is a way for everyone to choose who they want to be in charge of important things, like running the country or making rules for a neighborhood. We have different choices, like different people running for president or different laws we want to pass. Just like in the game with the animals, we each get to choose who we like the most by casting a vote. The person or law with the most votes wins!

It's important for everyone to vote so that the most popular person or law is chosen fairly. It's like when you're playing a game with friends and you want everyone to play fair so that everyone has fun. Voting is how grown-ups play fair with important things.
