In Acts 19, there were some people living in a city called Ephesus who had not heard about Jesus yet. One man named Paul came to Ephesus and started teaching the people about Jesus. Many of them believed in Jesus and were baptized.
Paul also performed miracles, like healing people who were sick and even casting out evil spirits. Some of the people in Ephesus who practiced magic saw what Paul was doing and believed in Jesus too. They even burned their magic books to show that they wanted to follow Jesus instead.
However, not everyone in Ephesus was happy about Paul coming to town. There were some men who made a living by making idols of the goddess Artemis, who was worshiped in Ephesus. They didn't like that so many people were turning to Jesus instead. So they started stirring up trouble and rioting in the city.
Eventually, the city clerk calmed everyone down and explained that Paul and his followers were not breaking any laws. He told the people to listen to reason and not to let their emotions get the best of them. The city went back to normal after that.
