Anglo-Saxon refers to a group of people who lived a very long time ago in a place that is now called England. They were there way before TV and phones were invented!
They spoke a language called Old English, which is very different from the English we use today. They had their own way of writing, and they wrote everything by hand because they didn't have computers or printers.
The Anglo-Saxons lived in small groups called tribes, and they had their own leaders called kings. They used to fight each other for land and power, which was not very nice.
They were also very good at making things with their hands. They made pottery, jewelry, clothes, and even weapons. They loved storytelling and music, and they used to tell tales about heroes who fought dragons and monsters.
Eventually, the Anglo-Saxons were invaded by another group of people called the Normans, who came from a place called Normandy in France. But even though the Normans took over, many things from the Anglo-Saxon culture were still kept alive and are part of the English culture today.
